Blog Highlights
I had an extensive blog back in the day. Here are some entries worth remembering.
Harry Reminick: A pop culture discovery My uncle Harry Reminick's contribution to the Works Project Administration's Federal Art Project in 1937, and how he helped shape my life. |
My First Green Patina Experiment Instructions for creating that beautiful green patina on copper using common ammonia and common household supplies. I know this one gets used quite a bit, yay! |
Large Scale Foldforming with Linda Leviton - [Part 1] [Part 2] About Linda Leviton's 2015 workshop in Columbus, OH. Linda creates metal installations for spaces like corporate atriums, hospitals, and universities. |
My modified Harbor Freight Hydraulic Press A great commercial hydraulic press (for making jewelry and small sculpture) was not in my budget. So I went to Harbor Freight and bought one for $199. Then I hired a local craftsman to make two 8x12" removable platens-- and it worked like a charm. Here are my steps. The comments are worth reading, too - lots of readers submitted very good advice. |
Happy 2013 and Tips for a Cut Finger My most popular blog post, ever-- a humorous but cautionary tale. Readers often leave stories of their own in the comments. |
